Thinks have gone from bad to worse fore the Pittsburgh Steelers and their faithful. First former Steelers coach turned CBS Sports analyst Bill Cowher commented on the 2014-2015 incarnation of the Steelers calling the defense soft, and using the term "finesse" as a derogatory one to describe the Steelers offense. Now the Steelers all tiem leading receiver Hines Ward has thrown in his two cents, and he seemed to echo Cowher when he chimed in on NBC-TV: “They’re very close to hitting that panic button … The defense looks soft. Guys are just able to run the ball up and down the field. I look at their personnel; they can’t cover anybody in the secondary. Offensively, I thought I’d never say it, but the Steelers are a finesse offense right now. I don’t even know who these guys are.” Pretty harsh comments from two men who are lifelong Steelers, however some of the current players on the roster have already made their disagreement known. Ike Taylor played with Ward and for Cowher made it clear that he feels there is no reason to panic: “They’re very close to hitting that panic button … The defense looks soft. Guys are just able to run the ball up and down the field. I look at their personnel; they can’t cover anybody in the secondary. Offensively, I thought I’d never say it, but the Steelers are a finesse offense right now. I don’t even know who these guys are.” Which side are you on Steelers fans? Is it time to hit the panic button? Leave us your thoughts in the comments below.
