49ers legend Steve Young blasts Cowboys play calling
Talk about a dig at the Cowboys.

By now, you've heard that the Dallas Cowboys parted ways with offensive coordinator Kellen Moore, who is now with the Los Angeles Chargers in the same role. Brian Schottenheimer is now in the role, though head coach Mike McCarthy has been announced as the main figure who will be calling offensive plays for the Cowboys in 2023.
But if you happen to talk to San Francisco 49ers legend Steve Young, the Cowboys are essentially running plays from nearly a decade ago.
“The 49ers have a head coach who is as innovative as anybody in the league, at a time when the Cowboys last year are running 2015 plays and don’t have a chance,” Young said. “Kyle leans in and figures out ways to make it better for quarterbacks. So we’re ahead of the game already right there. And then we have as good a roster as anybody — it’s not perfect, but it’s as good as anybody.”
Was this an unfair dig at the Cowboys, or a sign of things to come under the combination of McCarthy and Schottenhimer calling the plays in 2023?
