The San Francisco 49ers had to use all their quarterback stock this season. QB coach Brian Griese must have had several headaches this season.
Replacement quarterback to Trey Lance, Jimmy Garappolo, held the fort for most of the season. However, it was obvious that he probably wouldn't be in the team's plan next season. With 3 young quarterbacks in the bank, the future seems assured.
During an end-of-season press conference, coach Kyle Shanahan was very clear on the matter. Jimmy is not part of the team's future plans. Even if Garappolo was going to be a free agent this upcoming season, he deserved a little better than how Shanahan reacted when he answered the question.
Here is the whole press conference:
Considering that Jimmy is out of San Francisco, many football experts are linking him to the Atlanta Falcons and the Houston Texans but he won't get the job easily. There is plenty of fish in the ocean this year.
