49ers officially hire new defensive coordinator

The San Fransisco 49ers, who came within one win of advancing to the Super Bowl, needed to make a new hire after they lost defensive coordinator DeMeco Ryans to the Houston Texans.
They now have their man. According to multiple reports, the 49ers will be hiring former Carolina Panthers interim head coach Steve Wilks.
It was Wilks who took over for fired head coach Matt Rhule after the Panthers stumbled out of the gate with a 1-5 record; under him, the Panthers finished 6-6.
