Could the Pittsburgh Steelers deal wide receiver Chase Claypool? There have been multiple reports earlier in the week indicating that it's a possibility, as many teams would love to acquire the talented wideout for a postseason run.
According to NFL Insider Jordan Schultz, the Steelers certainly wouldn't part with Claypool for nothing in return. He writes on Twitter:
"As one GM told me however: 'They’re not going to trade him just for the sake of it. He’s a talented guy. They’d have to get back something pretty sweet.'”
And now, that "sweet" asking price has reportedly been released. Per Shultz, the Steelers would ask for at least a second round draft pick in return for acquiring Claypool.
"Two teams have now told me the #Steelers want a second-round draft pick in return for Chase Claypool."
Claypool played college football at Notre Dame and was drafted by the Steelers in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft. So far in the 2022 NFL season, Claypool has hauled in 23 receptions for 225 yards and one touchdown.
