Ben Roethlisberger's spot in the Hall of Fame in doubt?
He's a first ballot Hall of Famer, right?
The Football Feed
It was a long and very fruitful NFL career for Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger, who has spent the last 18 years wearing the black and yellow while leading his team to two Super Bowl wins. He's also the franchise leader in wins with 165, home wins with 92, and passing touchdowns with 418.
He called it a career earlier last year after 18 NFL seasons, all spent with the Steelers. Next stop: Canton, Ohio in the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Right?
"Two Super Bowl wins, a third trip and a career that went from superb — the first quarterback to win Offensive Rookie of the Year (2004) since 1970 — to troubled to once again superb marks Big Ben as a Canton cinch," the 33rd Team writes.
Additionally, an author from the outlet said that he had to explain to a national columnist that Roethlisberger was in fact a first Ballot Hall oF Famer.
"I remember telling a well-known national columnist years ago that Ben Roethlisberger not only would reach Canton one day but would be a first-ballot choice," Clark Judge, senior writer for the 33rd team said in the article above. "He laughed and said it wouldn’t happen. I think it will: Roethlisberger didn’t put up a lot of gaudy numbers like some of his peers, but he won twice as many games as he lost (165-81-1) and delivered two more Lombardi Trophies to Pittsburgh. That’s good enough for me. Check, please."
There's no doubt - Big Ben belongs in the Hall of Fame.
