At New England Patriots cornerback Stephon Gilmore's wedding three years ago this month, a foursome of league rivals crashed the party.
San Diego Chargers linebacker Melvin Ingram came. In 2014 his Chargers beat up on Gilmore's Buffalo Bills, 22-10.
Houston Texans edge rusher Jadeveon Clowney came too. In 2015 he notched a sack and two tackles for loss in his team's game against Gilmore's Bills. His teammate D.J. Swearinger was there too.
Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Alshon Jeffrey came to the wedding as well. He's never played against Gilmore, and he won't this year since the Pats don't play against the Eagles.
So maybe "bitter rivals" is a stretch. In fact, the five guys are long-time friends dating back to their days with the South Carolina Gamecocks. Gilmore, Ingram, Swearinger and Jeffrey all played together in Columbia for three years from 2009-2011. Clowney came after. They were all groomsman at the wedding.
