Despite being under-utilized throughout all of last season, Brandon Boykin harbors no ill will towards the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The former Steelers' cornerback signed with the NFC champion Carolina Panthers on Monday. His contract is a one-year deal worth $840,000 with an $80K signing bonus.

Boykin was under-utilized during the 2015 season, after the team used a fifth round pick to acquire Boykin from the Eagles. In 2013 Boykin recorded an impressive six interceptions which is what drew the Steelers' interest. However, Boykin barely saw any playing time during the team's first 12 games of 2015. It was only after the team allowed five touchdown passes to the Seattle Seahawks in Week 12 that Boykin was rotated in for his first start opposite cornerback William Gay.

Boykin recorded 25 tackles, a sack, a forced fumble, and an interception while playing in all 16 games with the Steelers last season.

Boykin will now get the chance to show his talent and compete for a starting roster spot with Bene Benwikere for the team's No.2 corner position opposite Josh Norman.

Despite all the hardship, Boykin posted the following message on his Twitter account, as he thanked both the Steelers and Eagles' (his team from 2012-14) fan bases for their support throughout his young career.

Good luck Brandon!
