The Cowboys have reached an agreement with Sanjay Lal to become their new wide receivers coach.
Per the Dallas Morning News, Lal was worked as an assistant in the NFL for 11 years. He spent last season with the Indianapolis Colts after previous stops with Buffalo, the New York Jets and Oakland. He replaces Derek Dooley, who left the Cowboys to return to college and become the offensive coordinator for the University of Missouri.
Former Cowboys receiver Miles Austin, who has worked in the Cowboys scouting department the last two seasons, also interviewed for the position.
Lal is the second assistant to join Jason Garrett's staff this week. Former Cincinnati assistant Paul Alexander was hired on Monday to coach the offensive line.
At least five openings remain on Garrett's staff - special teams coordinator, quarterbacks, tight ends, linebackers and defensive backs.
