Syracuse University have announced the passing of former head-coach Richard F. "Dick" MacPherson. He was 86 years old.
As per cuse.com, MacPherson is mostly recognized for turning Syracuse football into a solid national program during the '80's. He helped guide the organization to an undefeated season in 1987 and five bowl games in 10 seasons.
He became head-coach of the New England Patriots after the 1990 season, a stint during which he would be unable to attain a positive record. In two seasons with the organization, he would go 6-10 and 2-14.
