Although we certainly started to take the possibility of an NFL franchise being moved to Los Angeles more seriously as talks escalated over the course of 2015, we never really thought that one fan base would be decimated overnight and have their team ripped away from them for good.
Sam Farmer of the Los Angeles times has broken arguably the biggest story in decades, the St. Louis Rams are no more, let the reality of that sink in for a moment, a city that not so long ago watched Kurt Warner capture a Superbowl title no longer has an NFL team of any kind.
It's a sobering look at the cut-throat reality that is the business of sports, perhaps the ultimate case of "what have you done for me lately," especially when one considers that the vote was almost unanimous, with 30 votes in favor to just 2 votes against.
Our condolences to every fan in St. Louis currently experiencing something they should never have to, through no fault of their own.
