Breaking - Major news regarding Ezekiel Elliott

He could be on the field sooner than originally thought

Even though he's suspended for the first 6 games of the NFL regular season, Zeke Elliott is still eligible to play in the preseason. The Cowboys hadn't used him thus far in their 3 games but since Zeke won't be playing for around 3 months, it could be a give time to give him some reps to keep him fresh. Jason Garrett agrees

Of course, giving him reps takes reps away from the other running backs who are certain to be featured in the regular season. Guys like Alfred Morris, Darren McFadden, Rod Smith and Ronnie Hillman are all fighting for carries. Alfred Morris and McFadden have the edge right now.

"I haven't made that decision. I just haven't had those discussions with him," Garrett said of Elliott, who faces a six-game suspensionfor violating the league's personal conduct policy, a ban stemming from the NFL's year-long investigation into domestic violence accusations made against Elliott by Tiffany Thompson.
