In an unfortunate piece of news, a football fan has lost his life after taking a dangerous fall at last night's game.
According to Denver 7 News reporter Amanda del Castillo, a man who fell 30 to 50 feet leaving Sports Authority Field at Mile High after the Denver Broncos game on Monday night has been confirmed dead by Denver's Medical Examiner's office.
The incident occurred around near the north end of the stadium following the Broncos' 27-9 win over the Houston Texans at about 9:44 p.m. local time, and emergency personnel responded to a 911 call for help.
Management at Sports Authority Field released this statement shortly after the accident.
"A fan was taken to the hospital after falling over a stairwell railing at Sports Authority Field at Mile High shortly after Monday night’s game," Stadium Management Company, which operates the stadium, said in a release.
"Our thoughts are with the injured fan, and we are in the process of learning more about this incident from the Denver Police Department’s investigation."
The person's name, age and gender have not been released and it is unclear how the person fell.
