It has not been a fruitful season for Green Bay Packers starting running back Ty Montgomery, and now it's all over.

The Packers have placed Montgomery on injured reserve with injuries to his ribs and wrist, effectively ending his season, the club announced Friday.

Montgomery missed the previous two games with the injuries, as well as a Week 5 win over the Dallas Cowboys due a rib issue. The third-year proregistered 273 rushing yards, 173 receiving yards, and four total touchdowns over eight games this season.

Rookies Aaron Jones and Jamaal Williams will carry the load going forward.

The Packers signed wide receiver Michael Clark off the practice squad, though they've been rumored to bring Aaron Rodgers back from IR soon, as he is eligible to practice as of Friday and was seen throwing passes last week.
