Bad news, Packers fans.
Promising rookie and fourth-round pick Vince Biegel is going to be out for a few weeks because of a foot injury. The linebacker had to undergo surgery last week, which means he might miss the start of training camp.
The 23-year-old also suffered this injury as a senior at Wisconsin last fall. ESPN describes it "as a Jones fracture, the same injury he suffered when he had a screw inserted into his foot."
It is fair to say Biegel was pretty unlucky this year: he left the field with a hand injury during the Packers' rookie minicamp last weekend.
Biegel was selected 108th overall, the first pick on Day 3 of the 2017 NFL Draft. He played 52 college games with the Wisconsin Badgers, from 2012 to 2016.
