The ongoing franchise tag saga between the Pittsburgh Steelers and Le'Veon Bell has come to it's conclusion
This is not good for the Steelers who have to shell out a bunch of money on just a 1 year contract. It also sucks for Bell who doesn't get the security of a long term deal.
Bell has been with the Steelers since he was drafted in 2013 and had blossomed into one of the NFL's top running backs. He's a special player who combines power, patience and quickness. This contract drama will go on for another year, now.
This opens the door for so many possibilities. What if Bell can't last another season? Do the Steelers still commit long term to someone who can't stay on the field, no matter how good he is. On the flipside, what if he does stay on the field and smashes all sorts of record? The Steelers will be kicking themselves for not signing him this year for less money than they would have to next year.
An interesting story that took another turn today.
