The Miami Dolphins are definitely out of luck.
Head coach Adam Gase has officially announced that cornerback 25-year-old Tony Lippett tore his Achilles tendon in practice yesterday, and is done for the season.
Lets just say this is yet another bad news for the Dolphins, after starting quarterback Ryan Tannehill's season-ending knee injury.
"The injury is a significant blow to the Dolphins’ defense and special teams: Lippett played 75 percent of the Dolphins’ defensive snaps and 36 percent of the Dolphins’ special teams snaps last season," per Yahoo Sports' Michael David Smith.
Lippett started 13 of 16 games last year, in which he recorded 67 tackles, 10 passes defended and four interceptions. This would have been the 25-year-old's third season in the league: he was drafted in the fifth round of the 2015 NFL draft out of Michigan State.
More details to come.
