The Pittsburgh Steelers have released former second-round draft pick Senquez Golson, the oft-injured cornerback who never actually played a snap for Pittsburgh.
The Steelers signed Joe Haden earlier in the week, which clearly had a ripple effect on the defensive back group. The Steelers also traded cornerback Ross Cockrell to the New York Giants Saturday.
ESPN's Jeremy Fowler noted that the Steelers' cornerback rotation will include Artie Burns, Joe Haden, William Gay, Coty Sensabaugh, Mike Hilton and Cam Sutton. "Probably best group/depth they've had in years," wrote Fowler.
Golson hasn't even taken a snap in a preseason game in three training camps with the Steelers. At Mississippi he was a unanimous All-American cornerback in 2014.
