A trade has been made in the NFL today that should prove mutually beneficial for both teams.
ESPN's Adam Schefter has reported that the Detroit Lions have agreed to a trade that will send wide receiverJeremy Kerley to the San Francisco 49ers in exchange for offensive lineman Brandon Thomas.
Kerley,27, was expected to take on a larger role with with the Lions with this offseason before a move to bring in Anquan Boldin made him expendable for the team. Kerley spent the first five seasons of his career with the New York Jets and was productive. He will now join Chip Kelly and the 49ers offense a No.2 receiver out of the slot alongside Bruce Ellington.
Thomas, meanwhile, gets a fresh start after a disappointing season. The former Clemson standout missed his entire rookie season as a result of a torn ACL, which also saw him drop to the third round of the 2014 NFL draft.
