The Buffalo Bills have lost wide receiver Jordan Matthews on a week-to-week basis during his first practice with the team on Sunday.
At this time it is unclear whether Matthews will be ready to start the regular season, but even if he can fully recover in time he will still have missed weeks of practice with his new team.
Matthews was traded to the Bills from the Philadelphia Eagles along with a 2018 third-round pick in exchange for cornerback.
Last season was somewhat disappointing for the 25-year-old wide out as he posted career lows in games played (14), games started (13), receiving yards (804), average yards per reception (11), and touchdowns (3). Still, Matthews has managed over 800 yards in each of his three previous NFL seasons, and could still be a great asset once he's fully recovered and integrated into the Bills' offense.
