Saturday's was particularly hard on one player, veteran defensive end Derek Wolfe.
Wolfe was carted off the field after colliding with offensive tackle Menelik Watson. Wolfe needed assistance getting up to his feet, which looked particularly bad for the 27-year-old.
Fortunately, head coach Vance Joseph doesn't believe the injury is serious, but Wolfe will still undergo an MRI on Saturday just to be safe. Results are expected to be released on Sunday.
Right now it looks like Wolfe won't miss much time with his ankle injury and should still be ready for the first week of the regular season.
Wolfe has made a reputation for himself as a top tier rush stopper with Denver and signed a four-year extension with the Broncos worth $36.7 million on January 15, 2016. Last season he posted a career best 51 combined tackles and 4 pass deflections, and a second straight season with 5.5 sacks. He has played all five of his previous NFL seasons with the Broncos.
