The Denver Broncos have some concern regarding the health of one of their best playmakers.
According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Broncos' star wide receiver Demaryius Thomas recently underwent an MRI for a hip injury, and is now being sent to have a second opinion.
Thomas reportedly suffered the injury in the first quarter of Thursday's game against the Carolina Panthers, but remained in the game. This is a positive sign, but Schefter reports that there's concern he could miss time depending on the result of the next stage of testing.
It goes without saying that if Thomas were to miss any time it would be a significant blow to the Broncos' passing game.
The three-time Pro Bowler hauled in four passes for 48 yards from Trevor Siemian en route to their season-opening win Thursday night.
Emmanuel Sanders would slide into a role as Siemian's top target if Thomas is forced to miss any time, with Cody Latimer among those in line for more prominent complementary roles.
