Being a NFL prospect is tough enough but graduating to the full roster is whole other level. You need to perform each game you play under the intense scrutiny of fans and coaches alike. There is always someone eager to replace you breathing down your neck and mistakes are not taken lightly.
This is exactly what Giants' OT/LT Ereck Flowers has gone through in his first two seasons. The giant 6'6'' 329lbs tackle made many mistakes but showed a lot of promise at the same time, creating a controversial reputation for himself. Some thought he gave up on becoming a great player but this little nugget of information may change the deal.
It may seem trivial that a guy earning about 3.5M$ a year decides to stay in New York to work hard. However, NFL seasons are so intense than guys take the first opportunity to go back to their families and decompress. Flowers work the whole winter on his game and it will hopefully unlocks his true potential!
