He worked out for them, and now he's officially a member of the team.
The Dallas Cowboys have announced that they've in fact signed former Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Martavis Bryant, who is trying to redeem himself after having been indefinitely suspended by the NFL for violations of their substance abuse policy.
And needless to say, he's grateful for the opportunity.
"It feels great," Bryant said Wednesday. "So thankful for the opportunity. It's been a long process for me, but I stayed the course. I didn't give up on myself. I'm very grateful and happy to be here. It's [being back in an NFL team facility] been everything, It's been a long process. I went through a lot over these last years that I haven't been playing football, getting down on myself. Wanting to give up on football, but at the end of the day, I had to look myself in the mirror, face my own demons and get myself together."
Bryan is a 2014 fourth-round pick of the Pittsburgh Steelers, and he racked up impressive numbers in his first pair of seasons, a total of 1,314 receiving yards and 14 touchdowns.
How do you envision his time with the Cowboys going?
