The Dallas Cowboys' offense is off to a rough start this afternoon, and it's due to some strange calls by the referees.

A promising Dallas Cowboys drive stalled late in the first quarter of Sunday's game against the Green Bay Packers after the Cowboys were flagged for a rare pre-snap substitution penalty.

Cowboys' wide receiver Brice Butler was called for unsportsmanlike conduct, because he ran out to the Cowboys’ huddle, then back to the sideline, without participating in the play.

Since Butler was in the huddle but didn't participate in the play, the officials flagged the Cowboys for a 15-yard unsportsmanlike conduct penalty. The penalty was a crippling one. It stalled Dallas’ drive, which looked like it could end with points, forcing the Dak Prescott-led offense to punt a couple of plays later.

Many fans have taken to Twitter to express their outrage at the call, as whether the Cowboys were even in the huddle at the time of the penalty is up for debate.
