The yearly ESPYS nominations were announced today, and a pair of Cowboys were unsurprisingly nominated for two of the top honors for their work last season.
Running back Ezekiel Elliott secured a nomination after his domination of the running game in his rookie season led him to be the first rookie to win the NFL's rushing title since 1999 with a NFL leading 1631 yards. He's up against Tom Brady, Matt Ryan, Aaron Rodgers and Khalil Mack for the title of Best NFL Player.
Quarterback Dak Prescott secured the nomination for Best Breakout Athlete for his rookie performance for leading the Tony Romo-less Cowboys to a 13-3 season. He maintained a 67.8% pass completion rate completing 311 of 459 attempts good for 3,667 yards and 23 touchdowns, while only giving up 4 interceptions. Add to that 282 rushing yards and another 8 touchdowns and there's no doubt Prescott's deserving of the nomination.
He's up against the NBA's Giannis Anteetokoumpo, the MLB's Aaron Judge, Soccer's Christian Pulisic, and Gymnist Laurie Hernandez.
The ESPYS will be hosted by Peyton Manning on July 12th, so get your votes in ASAP!
