Dak Prescott was a surprised when Kellen Moore told him Sunday that Dan Mullen was reportedly taking the University of Florida head coaching job.
Mullen, who was Prescott's head coach at Mississippi State, was offensive coordinator at Florida from 2005-2008, helping the Gators win national titles in 2006 and 2008.
"I didn't think he'd go back to Florida, but, hey, money talks," Prescott told the Dallas Morning News. "It is what it is. Not surprising because I didn't expect him to stay at Mississippi State much longer."
Mullen has been Mississippi State's head coach since 2009, compiling a 69-46 record to go along with eight consecutive bowl appearances.
Under Mullen, Prescott threw for 9,376 yards, 70 touchdowns and 23 interceptions in 49 games. The two-time All-American also rushed 536 times for 2,521 yards and 41 touchdowns while posting a 23-10 record as a starter.
