DeMarcus Lawrence REJECTS request from Dallas Cowboys!
Is his future with the Cowboys in doubt?
Well, this probably isn't the news that fans of the Dallas Cowboys wanted to hear on a Monday.
On top of the reports that the Cowboys are expected to soon be parting ways with wide receiver Amari Cooper, reports have surfaced that DeMarcus Lawrence has rejected the team's request that he take a pay cut.
Following two Pro Bowl seasons, Lawrence was rewarded for his efforts by the Cowboys with a five-year, $105 million extension in April 2019. If the Cowboys were to cut Lawrence, it would create $19 million in dead cap money while also providing $8 million in cap relief.
Should Lawrence remain on the roster by March 20, he would be owed nearly $20 million.
While playing in only seven games last season, Lawrence amassed 21 tackles along with three sacks, a defensive touchdown, two forced fumbles and five pass deflections.
