The moment that Demaryius Thomas has been waiting for for so long is finally coming to fruition.
CBS sideline reporter Tracy Wolfson confirmed that Thomas' mother, Katina Smith, will finally watch him play live on Sunday.
The Denver Broncos' wide receiver told reporters on Wednesday a travel restriction on his mother has been lifted and that "the goal" was to have her see him play for the very first time at Sports Authority Field at Mile High.
Katina Smith was arrested in 1999, when Thomas was 11, and sentenced to 20 years in prison for drug trafficking. She was released from prison last year after President Obama commuted her sentence and is now out of a Georgia halfway house with no restrictions on her travel.
It's a moment that Thomas has been waiting for for a very long time.
"I know she'd be excited," Thomas said of what that moment would be like. "It'd mean a lot for her to see my first game live."
Well this game now means even more to Thomas, as the Broncos will attempt to beat the Pittsburgh Steelers today.
