The Broncos drafted Michigan tight end Jake Butt in the 5th Round and this could turn out to be the steal of their draft. Butt was projected a lot higher until an ACL injury in Michigan's bowl game against Florida State.
He was potentially a late first or second round talent who fell all the way to the 5th round because of the injury. If he's healthy the Broncos could have a huge weapon added to their offense immediately.
Denver was pretty average at tight end and adding an athletic pass catcher, who can also block, will benefit their offense tremendously. All they're missing now is a quarterback.
With that said, Butt might not be ready until midway through the season. Still, Butt is a modern day tight end who could be the steal of the draft whenever he steps on the field.
