Philadelphia Eagles' long snapper Jon Dorenbos suffered a very serious wrist injury against the Washington Redskins, last season. Linebacker Houston Bates collided into the 36-year-old, who fell on his wrist and caused an injury that could have been career-ending.

It had an enormous impact on his day-to-day life: Dorenbos has recently opened up to a reporter of the Delaware County Daily Times about how he learned to live with it.

“I was in so much pain... The surgery went good. I had three pins put in it, then five pins. Then it was a quality of life thing." But he wondered: "when will I be able to drive my car? When will I be able to wash my hair again? When will I be able to just function? Once that came back I was like, ‘Alright, whatever happens, happens.’”

Some say his future is in jeopardy with the organization, since they kept Rick Lovato on the roster this offseason. This could mean that Dorenbos' services are no longer required. When he was asked about pursuing his career elsewhere, the 36-year-old was pretty clear:

“It would definitely have to be the right situation. At this point in my life it would have to be the right situation, the right team, contenders. I wouldn’t just go play, to play. It would have to be the right situation. But I don’t want to play anywhere else.”
