After 1 pre-season game, the Eagles felt best in releasing cornerback Mitchell White in order to sign Rashard Davis, a potential punt returner.
"White is 27 and would have had to really stand out to make the team. He looked pretty good near the line, not so good down the field in practice, though he was a star in the Canadian Football League.
Davis, 5-9, 180, had rookie-camp tryouts with the Bears and Jets as a punt returner. Behind Darren Sproles, the Eagles might feel they could use some punt-return expertise; Donnel Pumphrey and Greg Ward both struggled with fielding the ball in last Thursday’s preseason opener."
White came over from the CFL's Montreal Alouettes to try out for the Eagles, he had previously played a year in the NFL in 2013 with Oakland. Being 27 certainly didn't help White's case.
