The Philadelphia Eagles have been trying to find a way to get more snaps for their best players, which is why tight end Trey Burton has been used as a fullback during this week's OTAs. The 25-year-old is known to be extremely versatile: he played H-back, quarterback and, of course, tight end back in his college days.
According to head coach Doug Pederson, this won't become Burton's permanent position:
"Right now, it's just kind of by committee. 247 Sports.has been in there and Dillon Gordon has been in there, which we did last year in the preseason, if you remember. We've got a couple guys. Beau Allen was in there last year. So we'll see where that goes," per
Burton recorded 37 receptions for 327 yards and one touchdown in 15 games last season. He played his college football for the University of Florida, and was signed by Philly in 2014 as an undrafted free agent.
