The Philadelphia Eagles have added depth to their quarterback position by signing a former rival.
Quarterback Will Grier, who was a member of the Dallas Cowboys from 2021 to 2022, has been signed by the Eagles and will provide good depth behind starter Jalen Hurts and the newly acquired Kenny Pickett.
The news was originally reported by NFL Insider Adam Schefter, who wrote the following on his X (formerly known as Twitter) account:
“Eagles are signing former Cowboys and Patriots QB Will Grier to a one-year deal, per sources,” Schefter wrote. “In the past week, the Eagles now have added QBs Kenny Pickett and Grier."
The 28 year old quarterback, who was drafted by the Carolina Panthers in the third round in the 2019 NFL Draft, came to the Cowboys after being claimed on waivers in 2021. He's also seen time with the Cincinnati Bengals, New England Patriots and Los Angeles Chargers.
