Some details have begun to emerge in the fatal shooting of Will Smith.
According to FOX 8 in New Orleans, New Orleans Police Department executed search warrants on both vehicles involved in Tuesday's road rage shooting that left New Orleans Saints defensive end dead, and his wife wounded. A search of bot vehicules uncovered a fully loaded revolver inside the Hummer H2 of shooting suspect Cardell Hayes and a fully loaded 9-mm handgun inside of the Mercedes G63 belonging to Smith.
Police did not reveal whether the 9-mm found inside of Smith's vehicle belonged to Smith or one of the two unidentified passengers were in his car, in addition to his wife Raquel Smith.
Hayes' attorneys have stated that their client "was not the aggressor" in the incident, and surveillance video released today showed what appeared to be Smith's SUV bumping into the back of a Hummer H2 and then speeding off when the H2 pulled over. The H2 then took pursuit after the Mercedes, with the shooting occurring a few blocks later.
Hayes is being held on a charge of second-degree murder.
