DeMarco Murray is a Cowboys' fan for life, and an Ezekiel Elliott fan this year.
The-now Tennessee Titans' running back broke the Cowboys' single-season rushing record back in 2014, but he believes that Elliott is hot on his heels.
"Nah, he'll get it someday. He'll get it someday," Murray said, according to Conor Orr of NFL.com. "That ain't gonna last too long ... "
"He's a tough guy. A tough guy. As running backs we're supposed to run the ball but I'm really impressed with his catching ability and blocking. Those are two things for me, where I got a lot of respect for him."
Murray broke Emmitt Smith's long-standing franchise mark with 1,845 yards before moving on to join thein 2015 and landing with the Titans in a trade this past year.
Despite sitting out Week 17 to rest for the playoffs, Elliott finished his debut season with 1,631 yards to lead the league by a wide margin.
If his first season is any indication, with Zeke falling 177 yards shy of Eric Dickerson's all-time rookie record, perhaps Murray is correct to suggest that Elliott is only just getting started.
