While some NFL players have certainly been trying to stay out of trouble off the field, others simply can't escape it.
The latest casualty is former wide receiver Jabar Gaffney. According to Jacksonville.com, Gaffney was arrested Friday on marijuana and other drug possession charges. He is charged with at least one felony in the arrest and was released Friday night after posting $7,000 bond.
The 35-year old veteran spent time with the Texans, Patriots, Broncos, Washington, and Dolphins over a ten year career. He was released by the Dolphins in 2012 and was subsequently suspended two games by the NFL for failing to report a 2010 arrest.
It's unfortunate to see players, once so successful, fall into this recurring and vicious cycle.
