Free agent OT Duane Brown arrested at LAX on weapons charge
He's due in court next month.
Five-time Pro Bowl selection and current free agent offensive tackle Duane Brown was arrested on Saturday at Los Angeles International Airport after he allegedly carried a gun through a TSA checkpoint in his luggage.
Though the weapon was not loaded, he was immediately arrested by Airport Police on a misdemeanor charge and held on $10,000 bail.
Brown was "departing from Terminal 6 was discovered at the screening station possessing a concealed firearm," LAX police Lt. Karla Rodriguez said in a statement.
He's due in court on August 3.
After playing collegiately at Virginia Tech, Brown was selected 26th overall (Round 1) of the 2008 NFL Draft. He would eventually earn his first Pro-Bowl selection and also ink a huge six-year, $53.4 million extension in 2012. He would be traded to the Seattle Seahawks in 2017, and signed three-year, $36.5 million contract extension in 2018.
