FS1 Host hints Jerry Jones will sell Cowboys overseas
This would be an absolute stunner.
The most valuable professional sports franchise in North America, the Dallas Cowboys have been owned by Jerry Jones since his purchase of the franchise for $140 million from team owner and friend H.R. “Bum” Bright. Right now, the team is valued at an astounding $9 billion.
But the fact is Jones isn't getting any younger, and there have been rumors that he could eventually look to sell the franchise and receive a considerable sum in return. It's even been speculated that Jones could receive as much as $10 billion in return for the potential sale of the franchise.
According to FSN1 host Craig Carton, he wouldn't be "surprised" if Jones were to sell the Cowboys to Middle Eastern business interests.
“I think they’re going to sell the team,” Craig Carton said. “I would not be surprised if we start hearing rumblings that Jerry Jones is going after hedge funds in Saudi Arabia and Abu Dhabi, trying to find the suitor to give him the largest check ever given to the owner of a North American sports franchise.”
“It’s as clear as day to me that Jerry Jones will sell the Dallas Cowboys within the next two years,” Carton said. “He will not own the team beyond the next two years, because this ain’t Jerry Jones, and Jerry Jones can’t go out like that, because that’s not what Jerry Jones is all about."
Needless to say, this would be an absolute stunner of a news bombshell if this took place.
