The National Football League issued a major threat this week when they stated they would suspend all players named in the Al Jazeera performance enhancing drug report indefinitely if the continued to refuse interviews with the league.
One of those players is none other than Pittsburgh Steeler James Harrison, and if you know anything about Harrison you know he usually doesn't respond well to threats from the NFL. On Tuesday Harrison made it clear he had no intention of cooperating with the league, and he laid out his reasoning in true "Deebo" fashion.
“Somebody could come out and say James Harrison is a pedophile,” said Harrison as per Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com. “They are going to suspend me, put me under investigation for being a pedophile just because somebody said it? I’m not going to answer questions for every little thing some Tom, Dick and Harry comes up with.”
Unfortunately that could mean bad news for the Steelers, but the National Football League Players' Association will undoubtedly have a thing or two to say about any impending suspension before they officially go into effect. If he is suspended Harrison says he's prepared to go all the way to fight this, including sitting out games if necessary.
"I'll do what I have to do. They'll do what they have to do," said Harrison about the NFL. "We'll make that decision when that time comes...I just am doing what I'm advised to do (by the NFLPA). It's the right thing to do."
This one is far from over.
