Dallas Cowboy fans wait with baited breath to see the return of the prodigal son Jaylon Smith. The Cowboys, however, are in no rush throw the young linebacker onto the field.
"The team held him out of the Hall of Fame game against the Arizona Cardinals, and are reportedly going to take the same course of action when they travel to Los Angeles to battle the Rams on Saturday, Aug. 12 -- according to Clarence Hill of Fort Worth Star-Telegram."
The main thing is that he's ready to go for the regular season but getting him game speed reps in the pre-season wouldn't be a bad thing. Still, there is no point in throwing caution to the wind just yet. If Smith is the heir apparent to Sean Lee, then there is no rush.
Smith, a first round talent, dropped to the 2nd round of the 2016 NFL draft, where the Cowboys scooped him up, after sustaining a bad knee injury in his last ever college game at Notre Dame.
