Could Deion Sanders ever coach in the National Football League?
He's already catching the attention of just about everyone in the football world for his work as head coach of the University of Colorado Buffaloes, leading them to a 3-0 record so far. He's also well known to Cowboys fans, having spent a portion of his lengthy NFL career in Dallas.
But what does team owner and general manager Jerry Jones think about the prospects of Sanders ever getting a head coaching gig in the NFL? According to Jones, he didn't sound too high on the idea.
“He influences people," Jones said of Sanders. "And of course, that’s part of it in the NFL. But I don’t want to go there because you know where that starts going, every which way.”
Sanders helped the Cowboys win Super Bowl XXX, and has also played for the Atlanta Falcons, San Francisco 49ers, Washington Redskins and Baltimore Ravens during his career. He racked up a total of 512 tackles with 53 interceptions, along with 2,199 punt return yards.
He also earned 8 Pro Bowl nominations while also being named to the NFL All-1990's team. And as if that wasn't enough, he's also the only player who have played in both a Super Bowl and the World Series, as he also played several years of Major League Baseball.
