The New York Jets first round pick, 6th overall, in the 2017 NFL Draft has been signed to a four-year rookie contract today.

Safety Jamal Adams is 21-years-old, 6'0, 211 lbs, and is the face of the future for the Jets organization. Adams played his college career for LSU where he was named to the ll-Southeastern Conference team in 2015 and 2016, along with being named a Second-team All-American in 2016.

On January 6, 2017, Adams announced he would not return to LSU for his senior season, instead taking his chances in the 2017 NFL Draft.

The Jets have extended a hefty contract to the rookie, not surprising given the amount of hype built up around Adams heading into the draft. This might be a rare bit of good news for the Jets, and something positive to look forwards with an uncertain season about to start.
