According to ESPN insider Adam Schefter, Lamar Jackson turned down the offer from the Baltimore Ravens. He will therefore receive $23 million this season.

Despite several attempts to close an agreement between the two parties, the Ravens organization could not agree with its star quarterback. They had until today to come to an agreement.

Jackson had also expressed his desire to focus on his performances and those of his team this season and not to be bothered by negotiations.

General manager Eric DeCosta commented on the subject on the team's Twitter page.

Jackson completed 246 passes last season for 2,882 yards. He has 16 touchdowns in his 2021 record despite missing 4 games due to an ankle injury.

This could therefore grant him the title of concession player at the end of this campaign. Baltimore has until March 7 to put the franchise tag on their QB. If they do, it will be the first time they do it in the franchise history. This would keep Jackson from becoming an unrestricted free agent and would guarantee him $45 million next season under an exclusive franchise tag.

In the past 10 offseasons, only two quarterback have been given a franchise tag: Kirk Cousins in 2016 and 2017 and Dak Prescott in 2020 and 2021.

The Ravens will face the Jets in New York this Sunday at 1PM.
