Le'Veon Bell wants to make sure that he starts off contract negotiations with the Pittsburgh Steelers on the right foot.

Heading into the final year of his contract the Steelers' running back will be a candidate for a lucrative contract extension shortly, but is in no hurry to get these negotiations started.

"Juice" told reporters following Thursday's minicamp practice that his representation won't discuss a new deal with team officials until he's 100% healthy.

"I just want to make sure my knee's good," Bell said, according to Jeremy Fowler of ESPN. "Make sure everything's straight before all that comes about."

Completing his recovery before sitting down to exchange contract terms should only help Bell's already strong case when it comes to establishing his long-term value.

Though it's not yet clear when he can expect to be back at full strength, negotiations will likely heat up at some point before his contract season officially gets underway.

Either way, it shouldn't be long before the 24-year-old is rewarded with a contract that matches his on-field impact.

After an uninspiring rookie year, Bell racked up an impressive 2,215 yards from scrimmage in 2014. He was on a similarly productive pace last season before the injury forced him to the sideline after just six games.
