What is retirement, really?

Not something former NFL quarterback Michael Vick is comfortable with, apparently.

Vick will start off his second career in pro football tonight. He'll be playing quarterback tonight in the American Flag Football League's debut game at Avaya Stadium in San Jose, California.

Here's a breakdown of the essentials for the AFFL:

  • It's a 7-on-7 format with 12 man rosters on each team.
  • Each game is 60 minutes, the clock will be kept running except for in the final two minutes of the the first half, and the final five minutes of the game.
  • An AFFL Field is divided into four 25-yard boxes and first downs are awarded each time the offense reaches the next box.
  • No blocking, kicking, or fumbles are allowed. Only one lateral is allowed per play and incidental contact is permitted.

Here's what Vick himself had to say about being part of the AFFL:

Vick will be joined by fellow former NFL players Chad Johnson and Justin Forsett.

You'll also be able to catch the entire game once it's over at the www.AmericanFlag.Football website.
