The Dallas Cowboys are no longer undefeated after yesterday's setback on the road against the Arizona Cardinals at State Farm Stadium.
For head coach Mike McCarthy, it’s simply the reality of the situation that they find themselves in - and it will be key how they respond and adapt to their first real bit of adversity this season.
"The reality is we're 2-1," said head coach Mike McCarthy. "We're gonna fully expect to win every week. Obviously, we're disappointed. We're disappointed we're leaving here without a win, but this is part of the journey.
"It's part of the humbling component of the National Football League. Every experience gives you an opportunity to grow. We need to grow from this experience."
After not allowing a single rush of more than 20 yards in their first two wins, the Cowboys surrendered more than a few yesterday.
”They were going to test the middle of our run defense," coach Mike McCarthy said. "It's something we've got to get better at or it's going to continue to be a challenge."
The Cowboys will have a chance to apply what they’ve learned when they host the New England Patriots and AT&T Stadium next week in Week 4. It will feature the return of former fan favorite running back Ezekiel Elliott, who was cut by Dallas after last season.
