Talk about an incredibly frightening situation.
Two members of the Cleveland Browns were robbed at gunpoint yesterday morning, with their identities later being confirmed by a team source as cornerback Greg Newsome II and defensive tackle Perrion Winfrey.
The report indicates that after the pair left a Cleveland nightclub early in the morning, they were accosted by six individuals who stole jewelry as well as Newsome's truck. Thankfully, neither one of the players were injured. Right now, police are still trying to locate the vehicle.
Newsome had this to say about the incident on social media:
"I'm glad our guys are OK. ... We want everybody to be safe and we want to get violent people off of our streets," Browns coach Kevin Stefanski said Tuesday.
The Browns began mandatory minicamp earlier today.
