The Pittsburgh Steelers were able to even up their record last week with a critical win over the Cleveland Browns at home, improving to 1-1 and avoiding an 0-2 hole early in the season.
However, it came with multiple costs, as Minkah Fitzpatrick was hospitalized after suffering a chest injury; thankfully, his prognosis isn’t negative.
However, a handful of Steelers players are much lighter in the wallets after the NFL came down hard on them.
Jaylen Warren was fined a total of $48,333 for illegal use of helmet against Cleveland’s Juan Thornhill.
And as if that weren’t enough, Kwon Alexander and Elandon Roberts were each fined $43,709 for unnecessary roughness. Safety Damontae Kazee was fined $11,806 for unnecessary roughness, while DeMarvin Leal was fined $6,549 for the same thing.
Some pretty hefty punishments being levied by the NFL here. Pittsburgh had better hope that no more fines are coming when they hit the field later today in Sin City against the Las Vegas Raiders.
