New York Giants Pro Bowl safety Landon Collins appeared to go on the offensive again when pressed about his earlier "cancer" comments about teammate Eli Apple.
Superstar Odell Beckham Jr. also had things to say to Apple, more playing the role of supporter and cheerleader:
This time, while Collins stayed within the realm of political correct comments, it was easy to read between the lines. Collins said to ESPN things like "I'll always wish the best for him," but also curiously said "if you cross me I'll shoot back."
When asked what went wrong with Apple in 2017, Collins replied "it's his personal relationships off the field that's bothering him on the field."
But here's where it got really interesting. Stephen A. Smith asked Collins, "Do you think Eli Apple would be better served playing for another team and out of the New York market?"
Collins replied, "I don't know. That's a question I cant answer, I can't really see the future but any team would be happy to have him, he's a great corner. He's a good corner, I can see it everyday on the field but it just doesn't translate to the football field."
Wow. That's pretty much honestly in its simple form right there.
